Child Psychotherapy - The objective of this course is to examine the emotional, cognitive, biological, and social issues affecting children, their families, and the therapeutic relationship. As a result of participating in this program, attendees will be able to identify current issues in child and adolescent theory, development, and practice. They will be able to assess different childhood problems and ascertain how to address them, including issues of sleep, trauma, bullying, language learning disorders, grief, and the influence and impact of the media.
Interventions include psychodynamic, cognitive, family, and play therapies. The course is intended for mental health clinicians,educators, pediatricians, and others interested in the well-being of today's youth.
