  NH Mental Health Symposium - The 2008 Symposium will feature Theresa B. Moyers, Ph.D. as she presents a 6-hour workshop on Helping People Change: An Introduction to Motivational Interviewing. Dr. Moyers is a founding member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers and has produced a series of videotapes demonstrating motivational interviewing with Drs. Miller and Rollnick.   Advanced Parenting for Challenging Children - Is Parenting Stressing you Out!? Let’s face it parenting can be stressful! Advanced Parenting for Challenging Children is an 8-week series of workshops that can help you gain understanding and build new skills. This course is especially designed to help parents and family members to understand how attachment and trauma may be affecting their child’s behaviors. The course gives parents tools to help their child build bonds and begin to create successful relationships. All parents would benefit from the tools provided in the course. Parents with children who have severe behaviors or are diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder, ADHD, Bipolar, etc will find a ray of hope for their families. The Advanced Parenting for Challenging Children course was developed by Rose Baker and Nancy Thomas. Rose Baker is the Executive Director and Founder of Parents in Training, Inc. She has been a Certified Love and Logic Instructor since 1992 and has trained thousands of parents and professionals. She was invited to join the Elite Moms and is one of only 18 in the U.S to receive this honor. Nancy Thomas has worked as a Therapeutic Parenting Specialist with children who had Attachment Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, PTSD, Asperger’s, ritualistic abuse, ADD, ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Tourette’s Syndrome and Bipolar Disorder. Nancy is also the founder and chairperson of SAVY Incorporated, a foundation to help Stop America’s Violent Youth. She has trained over 35,000 parents and professionals in classes and seminars throughout the world. Advanced Parenting for Challenging Children is presented by Suzanne Harrison, President of A Compassionate Heart, a Certified Instructor for the Advanced Parenting Course and an adoptive parent.
