  SENSORY SURVIVAL® - How to survive the day-to-day challenges of working, treating, educating or parenting a child with sensory processing issues. Janet Wright Stafford, MS, OTR Is the owner of Kidz Play Pediatric Therapy Cen-ters , New Hampshire’s largest private pediatric practice that specializes in working with children with Sensory Processing, Autistic, Neurological, and Learning Disorders. Janet has over 17 years of experience treating children and is qualified to ad-minister the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test, has advanced training in Dynamic Listening Sys-tems, Therapeutic Listening, and is AMPS calibrated. Her areas of interest and research include Autism, Sensory Deprivation, play, inclusion, advocacy, and competency issues related to occupational therapy. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston University and her Master’s degree from the Uni-versity of New Hampshire. Janet serves on many local and national committees such as The Ameri-can Occupational Therapy Association, is on the Board of Directors of the NH Autism Society, and is the President of the New Hampshire Occupational Therapy Association. She is also adjunct faulty at the University of New Hampshire. Janet was honored with the Occupational Therapy Practitioner of the year award for the state of New Hampshire in 2003. She lectures on both the local and national level, is involved with research, and is in the process of completing her book.   Self-Harming Behaviors - SELF-HARMING BEHAVIORS JUNE 6-7, 2008 HYATT REGENCY BOSTON at Downtown Crossing offered by THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY CAMBRIDGE HEALTH ALLIANCE PHYSICIANS ORGANIZATION under the direction of Pamela Cantor, Ph.D. Judy Reiner Platt, Ed.D. Barent Walsh, MSW, Ph.D. The objective of this course is to offer guidelines to help assess, treat, and ensure the safety of adolescents, adults, and their families. As a result of attending this course, participants will understand the neurobiology, sociology, and psychology of self-harming behaviors. They will be able to identify the warning signs and risks associated with these behaviors and learn prevention strategies and clinical interventions. Material will be presented through lectures, case studies, and discussions. The course is intended for mental health and medical practitioners, researchers, educators, and others interested in those who self-harm.
